This tour is our sweet spot combining panorama and culinary highlights. Stunning views over the Gitschberg Jochtal taking in open alpine pastures and over 500 Dolomite and Alpine peaks. Physical exercise yes, stress no. Just the right mix. The warm sun on your skin, the mountain air in your lungs and a hut terrace with a view. This tour feels like freedom – and the South Tyrol we want to show our guests.
This moderately difficult tour is all about the altitude, but at a relaxed pace. It starts at the top of the Gitschberg at the Nesselbahn gondala lift station. From there, the scenic and easy-going trail leads to the summit and then downhill to the Gitschhütte and Nesselhütte mountain huts. What’s more, you have the option to take the gondala for the ascent and/or descent. This gives you more time to sit and enjoy your surroundings. The Gitschhütte scores points with its modern alpine cuisine. So good! Walking time: approx. 3–4 hours, depending on how often you stop to enjoy the view or take a break.
