Whether it's the Großberghütte, Wieserhütte or Pranterstadlhütte, each mountain hut has its own character. Our favourite has to be the Wieserhütte with its homemade cheese. Feel the sun on your face, enjoy a snack whenever you want or a chat around the wooden table. If you wish, you can plan ahead: the Großberghütte impresses guests with special culinary evenings in summer and winter alike – be sure to reserve!
This tour is our go-to for a relaxed summer’s day. It is a leisurely route through the Valle di Altafossa: the trail is wide with a gradual ascent and a calming atmosphere. There is no rush and no altitude stress. Instead, expect green meadows, plenty of fresh mountain air and three places to stop for refreshments. The tour starts at the car park in the Valle di Altafossa and takes you at a gentle pace towards the Großberghütte. From there, it continues to the Wieserhütte or the Prantnerstadlhütte. Everything is close together. We love it! Walking time: 2–3 hours
