Golden hour

This experience begins as the day slowly draws to a close. The mountains cast long shadows, the sunlight glows red and you have the mountain peak all to yourself. The „Stoanamandl“ is our favourite spot to enjoy the sunset in the Gitschberg Jochtal.

After hours

Now for something truly special. With most people already back down in the valley, you have the mountain all to yourself. The Dolomites are glowing, the air appears still and the moment feels very intense. Reach the top, sit down, look and wonder. This tour relies on perfect timing. It is one of our top tips. Simply the mountain, the light and that feeling of being exactly in the right place at the right time.

Good to know

The starting point is in the Jochtal. From there, hike in the direction of the „Stoanamandl“ – steadily uphill, but manageable. Surefootedness is however required in the evening. The climb is moderate, but the reward is amazing: an unobstructed panoramic view of the Dolomites in the evening. Our tip: pack a bottle of South Tyrolean wine together with a few local specialities and enjoy a picnic at the summit. Don't forget your headlamp for the way back to ensure a safe and relaxed descent.
