We love this tour for a relaxed winter’s day. Altitude differences are minimal and you can expect lots of sunshine and a view that you will love as much as we do. The trail leading across the high plateau to the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm is virtually flat, so much so you almost forget you are at an altitude of over 1,900 metres. Perfect for anyone who wants to be outdoors without overexerting themselves. And finally, the perfect end to a winter’s day: a cosy wood-panelled dining room and authentic South Tyrolean cuisine.

This walk starts at the Zumis car park. From there, it's a leisurely stroll towards the mountain huts – Oberhauser Hütte, Rastnerhütte or alternatively Starkenfeld Hütte. The route is flat for the most part, well prepared and ideal for winter hiking novices. A culinary highlight is the Rastnerhütte, famous for its variety of „Knödel“ or dumplings. Inside, you can sit in the warmth while the snow glistens outside. Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on how long you wish to stop to enjoy the view.

Virtually no inclines, ideal for relaxed winter walks.
Plenty of light, sweeping views, scenic winter landscape.
Classic „Knödel“ (or dumplings) in the cosy dining room.
The cosy vibe of the dining room is contagious! Take it easy.
Summer, autumn or winter. Hiking, biking, culinary delights or culture. Near the AUI, there are plenty more favourite trails and places to enjoy, not to mention the views. You will be raving about about them for a long time to come!
