Sunset

This tour kicks off as everyone else is winding down in the sauna. Taking you through open terrain, the views are far-reaching and the Dolomites glow in the sunset. Simply magical!

Cherish the moment

This tour is like an outdoor winter cinema. The Astjoch is exposed and high enough to capture the light until the very last minute. While shadows are cast elsewhere, it remains light here – and that is precisely what makes it so magical. Once you reach the top, a 360° panoramic view unfolds and the Dolomites turn pink, orange and gold. Wrapped up warm, you find yourself in the middle of it all, awestruck.

Good to know

The starting point is Zumis. From there, the trail leads uphill through rolling alpine meadows towards the Astjoch peak, offering breathtaking views along the way. The tour is moderately difficult and easily manageable in winter, but in the evening it is only recommended for sure-footed hikers. The climb is well worth it: at the top, you can enjoy what is probably the most expansive winter view in the region. Our tip: pack a thermos flask with hot mulled apple juice! For the descent, you should definitely bring a headlamp and crampons. There are some inns along the way where you can stop off and warm up.
